Depending on the purpose, the storage object can be:

• expenditure warehouse consisting of tanks;
• a warehouse in which acid is stored in a small container.

During the design process, the pipeline system is developed and the necessary equipment is selected. Thanks to this, it becomes possible to carry out pumping, shipping and reception of acids.

Storage of acids should be carried out in special buildings and premises that have II-V degree of fire resistance. If the warehouse is located outside, then in this case a canopy is created to protect the site from precipitation and direct sunlight. At the same time, containers with acids should always be isolated from other materials and even from chemical reagents.

It is forbidden to organize the storage of acids in basements and semi-basements. At the same time, in warehouses, floors must be covered with tiles that have high acid resistance. Drainage grooves must also be provided in the premises. In addition, the warehouse facility must be equipped with thresholds or ramps, the height of which is equal to 150 mm. These designs prevent spillage of substances.

Mandatory requirements when setting up a sulfuric acid warehouse is exhaust ventilation. When storing substances in bottles, the following are used:

• wicker baskets;
• plastic containers;
• strong gratings made of wood.

In addition, packaging material is used for storage, which can be straw or shavings. It is placed between the bottles. If flammable packaging is used for storage, then in this case it must be treated with a flame retardant composition. At the same time, the cells are placed in groups of a maximum of 100 pieces. The passage between such groups should be at least 1 meter.

The main difficulties and mistakes
with independent design:

1. Lack of an agreed project of the Sanitary Protection Zone (SZZ)
2. Lack of metering devices and objective (calculated) data on the required productivity.
3. Lack of title deeds to the land.
4. Inaccuracies in the preparation of the Terms of Reference: all the necessary studies were not taken into account, the documents listed above were not taken into account.
5. The justification of the price was performed incorrectly, on the basis of commercial proposals of non-specialized organizations, without taking into account the fulfillment of the requirements of technical conditions, the need for inspection of buildings and structures, etc.
6. Surveys, research, and design are performed by different companies, which causes delays and additional work.
